Samantha Ng (ICF ACC, MBA) is a rare breed. With ~20 years of experience across strategy consulting and financial services working next to CXOs, Sam knows exactly what challenges they face and how to overcome them. After spending her early career at McKinsey and leading a strategy team at Credit Suisse, Sam worked with two CEOs as part of their core team at Deutsche Bank, before taking on the role of Chief of Staff in the Corporate and Investment Bank, and leading Non-Financial Risk Transformation for the Chief Risk Office. She was one of ~40 of the bank’s most senior female MDs as part of its elite Schneider-Lenné cadre. With her background across strategy and risk management and a second degree in psychology, Sam provides a unique perspective on the big personal and professional decisions CXOs have to make by weighing opportunities against risk. Research has shown that CEOs on longer tenures are more likely to take risks than those on shorter ones. But in a constantly changing and disruptive environment, important decisions often need to be made at speed on less than perfect information. By focusing on her client’s strengths and leveraging risk management concepts like scenario analysis and operational resilience, Sam coaches and challenges her clients to make their best decisions in a manner that is authentic to them. In addition to corporate leaders, Sam works with start-up founders across the UK and US (Silicon Valley). Even when good risk-weighted decisions are made, getting the pitch right can make the critical difference in terms of funding and survival for early stage and growth start-ups. Armed with her first degree in English from the University of Cambridge, Sam provides coaching on communication and strategic stakeholder management to get that crucial pitch right.
