Shane McKenna Managing Director of Zabeel Consulting Group Shane, can you tell us about your journey to becoming an executive coach in Dubai? After lengthy international employment as a HR specialist in education and training organizations, I chose to transition into coaching about 10 years ago. Initially focussed on career development for professionals, my business partner and I recognized however the opportunity to coach and develop entrepreneurs starting up in the region. Our consultancy serves a niche community of professionals for whom we offer 40 years regional and international experience. The Middle East has unique business etiquettes and values. How do you incorporate these elements into your coaching sessions? Respect for hierarchy, the importance of relationships, and the value of trust are paramount in the Middle East. I ensure that coaching sessions honor these principles. For instance, when discussing leadership, we might explore how to lead in a way that respects hierarchy while still fostering innovation and open dialogue. Trust is the bedrock of any successful business relationship in the Middle East. In my coaching, we often explore how executives can establish, nurture, and maintain trust with their stakeholders, employees, and partners. “Trust is the bedrock of any successful business relationship in the Middle East.” CEO Today Executive Coaching Awards 2023 - UAE - - 86 - BUSINESS CONSULTANT OF THE YEAR
